Pere Bujosa Trio is a group created in 2017 in Amsterdam by the Mallorcan bass player Pere Bujosa, the pianist Xavi Torres and the drummer Joan Terol. Together they create music that combines elements such as polyrhythms, effects and atmospheric sounds, as well as arrangements based on the jazz tradition and other genres such as rock or electronic music.
In 2019 they presented their first album Wabi-Sabi, by the renowned label Fresh Sound New Talent. In their latest EP Arise (2021), the group reflects the maturity of having played together in recent years and continues to delve into the fusion of different styles with jazz.
Bujosa has worked in the service of musicians such as international artists Antonio Serrano, Ben Van Gelder (Netherlands), Hanna Paulsberg (Norway) and Salvador Sobral (Portugal). In this work, Bujosa explores the possibilities of one of the most classic formats in the field of jazz: the piano, double bass and drums trio. Pere Bujosa Trio’s group is committed to reflecting the Mallorcan musician’s passion for rhythm and textures, with a purely jazzy formula but with influences from rock, electronica and free improvisation, among other genres.
