‘Guaret’ (‘Fallow’) explores our search for identity. Actor Pedro Mas uses the poetry of Damià Huguet as his mirror in order to reflect back to him his Mallorquín identity - an identity that his own father did not know how to instil in him. ‘Guaret’ explores his own personal journey and feelings, focusing on his lack of clear cultural roots: born in Mallorca, of a Spanish mother and Majorcan father, but reaching maturity with the feeling of not truly belonging anywhere. Whilst it is a universal reflection on the impact of parents on their children, on personal identity, on the family support structures we have to help us through life’s adversities.
At the beginning of 'EL VIATGE', a piece of micro-theater that was performed in Palma's psychiatric year 2016 and which was based on the life of the actor, Pedro Mas and the playwright Joana Castell began a theatrical collaboration that now open to integrate the scenic director José Martret and the producer and lighting Jenny Vila. The pieces that until now has created the collective BananaRos build dramaturgy from reality, creating a fusion between the documentary genre and theatrical fiction.
