Benjamin Sanz, drummer and renowned agitator of the French scene and disciple of the legendary drummer Sunny Murray. After 'Mutation Majeure' (Archiball/Harmonia Mundi) his first critically acclaimed album and published on the label of jazz giant Archie Shepp, he directs the MiRR Collective, in which he has synthesized his research on improvised, contemporary music and of African roots. In 2019, he returns to the stage as a leader with a new quintet, 'Directions', accompanied by the most prominent musicians of the new American and European generation.
