Cala Joia is a musical duet formed by Josep Abelairas, voice an acoustic guitar, and Annabel Villalonga, Spanish guitar and voices. They present their new project Gira with four experienced musicians that have taken part in the work of the new album: Àngel Gelabert, keyboards and accordion, Manel Àlvarez, bass, Moisès Pelegrí, percussion, and Toni Pastor, lute. In musical terms, Gira can be defined as a folk-pop disk. It is a lively one, containing rhythm and vitality.
You can enjoy the purest folklore in the most traditional Minorcan style, until reaching the most danceable and contemporary pop music, but without missing the essence of the Minorcan music, nevertheless. As for the lyrics of the album, they are also very varied, they draw from different sources, but in fact, the three most important elements in its poetry are: love, land and sea.
