We all need a guide. Something to follow, to admire. Something (or someone) that clears the way and gives us a direction, which can be correct or not. In the lack of leadership, we get lost, falling in every step we take. But at that very moment, in this fall, is where things start to clear up and we find something. Something that could be very simple, but something we crave for.
Underneath refers us to the simplicity of something abstract, where movement is our strength.
Lali Ayguadé was born in Barcelona in 1980. At the age of eight, she began studying music (solfeig and piano) and was examined at the Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona. In 1996 she entered the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and a year later entered the Belgian School PARTES, led by Anne Teresa de Keersmarker. Since then, she has worked on numerous shows, such as Kaash, of the Akram Khan Company, or Portland, with Marcos Morau, director of La Veronal. She has also created her own shows, such as Twice read, Incognito or Kokoro. In 2010, she was nominated as an outstanding dancer for the London Critique Awards and in 2014 she was nominated for Best Creator. In 2016, she was nominated for Best Dancer at the Crítica Recomana.cat in Barcelona. Lali has starred in the short film Timecode, which has been awarded with the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
