BRAVURA is a show which addresses the emotional block men experience, the need to break with the inherited archetypes which bestow value on violence.
A multidisciplinary performance which combines physical theatre and circus. The work’s universe circulates through the magic inspired by horn-shaped stainless steel sculptures, the human body’s visual qualities, a puppet coming to life, audiovisuals and humour.
This project reflects on men’s emotional intelligence. A kind of intelligence that has not only not been developed, but it has been despised and hidden by society. The ability to convey emotions, experiences and sensations requires having emotional freedom, in order to express them and also to understand them. Being able to organize our emotions and feelings allows us to survive and nourishes us.
MOVIMENTS/ The company is researching for powerful images which prompt the audience to reflect on brutality and beauty, heroism and weakness, both in human and in animals.
During the process, elements from the classical myth of Theseus and the Minotaur will also come into play, such as the labyrinth, the ball of thread that Ariadne gives Theseus so that he can find his way out of the labyrinth, and the monster as a symbol for a creature which is half human and half animal.
MOVIMENTS, formed by Alejandro Navarro and Rosa Forteza, has been performing for more than twelve years in the field of theatre and movement. After studying physical theatre at the Institut del Teatre de Barcelona, Rosa and Alejandro decided to found the company in 2013. The desire to increase their physical knowledge has led them to the world of circus, in which they have specialised in hand-to-hand technique. The company works eclectically, choosing the best of each discipline to create personal and unique projects. It is committed to creation and research; to the sum and coexistence of the different performing disciplines in order to define its own professional profile. The company's shows are: El amor de las tres naranjas (2012), Lady, Frank & Stein (2017), En-contra (2019), Bravura (2021) and Zoom (2022).
