The Only Light is an album in the present tense, full of very personal songs with tremendously poetic lyrics that create stories. It is both a simple and complex record. Simple because the language is that of eternal jazz, with the added value of some musical developments that, when separated from the initial arrangement, draw waves of extreme beauty that shine in the rich accompanying orchestration provided by his usual group. Complex because the themes of The Only Light accept the challenge proposed by its creator, running through risky times, uncomfortable harmonies and solos in which the risk is measured by the amount of emotions that the most elaborate combination of musical notes can arouse.
