Rojos is a performing arts piece resulting from a two-year research on the post-war period of the Spanish Civil War. This research was done on the basis of a parallel research project -roges- consisting of 15 immersions in the territory in search of memory about this period. These activities sought to generate synergies between individual witnesses, work-in-progress samples of choreographic material and theoretical and artistic information about the period. The scenic result has the language of contemporary dance as its discursive axis, but seeks to immerse itself in the memory of the singular space where it is performed. A post-war period is an event that can be universalised and is common to the memory of all peoples, territories and sides. Essentially, the language of dance allows us to offer non-narrative discourses that evoke collective imaginaries. After all this journey through this research, which is still alive, we continue to see this project as a good opportunity to listen, learn, repair and make visible.

The Miquel Barcelona Dance Company brings together and collaborates with people, institutions and projects that work in line with these 5 areas of interest: territory, memory, sustainability, education and generation of audiences. Understanding artistic practice as a tool for social transformation, the company creates a space for close, interdisciplinary and creative encounters with the context to which it relates. It is committed to the cultural sector, the current moment and society understood as a living tension between the different agents that make it up.
