Èlia Bastida Gibert is a violinist, tenor saxophonist and vocalist based in Barcelona. At the age of four, she started to play the violin and later added the saxophone to her repertoire playing in the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. At the age of 27, she has already over 50 recordings as a sidewoman and leader to her name. Èlia has worked and recorded with musicians such as Scott Hamilton, Joel Frahm, Dick Oatts and Pasquale Grasso and is currently touring in Europe and Asia with her own group promoting her newest release, Tribute to Stéphane Grappelli. Apart from her own work, she is a member of the Carolina Alabau & Èlia Bastida Duo, HalliGalli Quartet, Joan Chamorro Group and the Sant Andreu Reunion Band.
In 2022 she published the book Swing with Your Violin, in which she teaches her approach to playing the jazz violin.
