Marcos Collado, renowned Majorcan guitarist living in Madrid, presents this new proposal of his own compositions in a quartet formation (guitar, alto sax, double bass and drums), where he develops a more jazzy repertoire and in a more acoustic format, paying tribute to certain albums and authors who were a source of learning and inspiration within the different aspects of the genre. From the harmonic innovation that the music of Debussy, Bartók or Stravinsky represented, the influence of African rhythms and popular music, the worldview of Charlie Parker or Miles Davis, the colorism of Bill Evans or the lyricism of Lee Konitz, to the transfer of more contemporary proposals such as the indomitable force of the quartet of John Scotfield and Joe Lovano or the sophistication of Kurt Rosenwinkel and Brad Mehldau.
To do this, he presents eight of his own compositions that, without losing the transgressive and personal touch, navigate between different rhythms and harmonies typical of the style but interpreted from the essence of improvisation and the interactive spirit. To achieve the most effective staging possible, he has surrounded himself with some of the best musicians in the country, established specialists on the national scene. A luxury quartet that, reinterpreting each of the pieces in each concert in the most unexpected and risky way possible, maintains the attention and awakens the spectator's emotions night after night.
