In this new project, Mary Lambourne, accompanied by Jordi Tugores, Sergio Llopis, Juanan Torandell, and Teo Salvà, presents a collection of original songs inspired by the visual work of James Lambourne. Growing up in an artistic context where visual arts and music have been highly present means that her approach to artistic creation includes an understanding of the connection between different artistic languages. Painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, music... All these are integral to the life and daily routine of the Lambourne family.
Many of the songs in this project originate from Mary Lambourne’s personal vision of the Lambourne world, a world with a very particular aesthetic and iconography in which she was raised and to which she belongs. Her way of conceiving art and music is intrinsically related to the concepts and aesthetics of James Lambourne’s work: the connection with nature and its elements, transition and the passage of time, the macrocosm and microcosm found in the simplest things, contemplation and communion with our environment, and above all, with our island and Mediterranean culture.
