The music program will be between November 2 and 4
The Teatre Principal de Palma hosted the closing of Fira B on the night of October 12! of performing arts, held in Palma between October 9 and 12. This year, a total of 27 shows have been performed, from various genres, such as text, new languages, movement, dance, circus, street theater and visual theatre.
2,500 people attended one of the shows scheduled as part of Fira B! and 150 performing arts professionals took part in the Pro Days, a set of activities aimed at the professional sector that took place between October 9 and 11 at the Mar i Terra Theater in Palma.
"The eighth edition of Fira B! demonstrates the diversity in Balearic creation, the richness of the local scene and the strong links that have been built with other territories, national and international" says the director of the Institute of Studies Balearics, Llorenç Perelló.
Fira B! it has been held in the most emblematic spaces and stages of the city of Palma, such as the Mar i Terra and Xesc Forteza municipal theatres; the Teatre Principal de Palma, the Contemporary Art Museum Es Baluard, the Espai el Tub, Plaça Major, Plaça Miquel Maura and the Rambla.
The closing ceremony was held on Thursday, October 12, by Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou, who presented the innovative "A beginning_Expanded Version", a piece that has been made possible thanks to one of the Creation grants from the Institute of Balearic Studies 2022, co-production of the Auditori de Barcelona, the Center Coregraphique National d'Orleans (France) and the Teatre Principal de Palma.
The guest country of this eighth edition has been Chile, with the presence of 2 Chilean companies in the program: Cia. Interdram and Cia. La Re-Sentida, which was in charge of the opening act with the performance and premiere in Spain of The possibility of tenderness, a work that reflects on masculinity from the point of view of young teenagers and which, after its premiere - in Spain as part of Fira B!, traveled to Madrid last weekend and will continue on tour in Valencia, Seville and Barcelona.
This year, for the first time, Fira B! has separated the performing arts and music disciplines. Now, now that the performing arts edition is over, it's time for the music edition, which will take place from November 2 to 4 and will offer a program with more than 50 concerts.
