This Wednesday the official presentation was given to give the heir to the fifth edition of Fira B!, the Professional Music and Performing Arts Market of the Balearic Islands, which starts on Thursday, October 3 and until Sunday 6th of October. October for more than 12 spaces of the city Palma. Fira B! 2019 will offer 52 music concerts and 29 performances of performing arts and an extensive program of professional conferences.
At the press conference, the Consellera of Presidència, Cultura i Igualtat, Pilar Costa; the Director of Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics, Mateu Malondra; la Directora Insular de Cultura del Consell de Mallorca, Maria Pastor y el Director General de Música i Arts Escèniques del Ajuntamiento de Palma, Miguel Ángel Contreras, have explained the characteristics of this new edition of Fira B! which has more participation and shows than ever. Counselor Pilar Costa has advanced that there are already 700 professionals accredited to Fira B! and has kicked off the "four days of a young fair, but has been consolidated very quickly thanks to the work of professionals and the artistic talent of the Balearic Islands."
The circus company Du'K'to has tasted the show that will represent Fira B!, 'Cafuné'.
The Director of the IEB, Mateu Malondra, highlighted the presence of international programmers in more than 20 different countries, in terms of music, participate in Fira B! 2019 programmers from the United Kingdom, Holland, Macedonia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Portugal, Serbia, Peru, France, Italy, India, the United States, Latvia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Turkey, Sweden, Brazil and Egypt. Regarding the autonomous communities, there are programmers from Galicia, the Canary Islands, Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia, Ceuta, the Basque Country and Andalusia. Among these are programmers such as: Jason Olaine, Jazz at Lincoln Center, United States; Neveen Kenawi: Library of Alexandria, Egypt Dani Ribas, SIM Sao; Paolo, Brasil; David Silbaugh: Summer Fest Milwaukee (rock festival), United States; Ian Smith: President EMC - European Music Council (they fight against the precariousness of the sector), United Kingdom; Paul Pace: Ronnie Scott's (London Jazz Club); Frank Van Berkel, Bimhuis festival, Netherlands; Frank Bolder, North Sea Jazz / Lantaren Vemter, Holland or Oriol Roca, Live Music Market in Vic, Catalonia.
Concerning the performing arts, international programmers attend Fair B! of France 2 people (Marion Marchand, of Circostrada, European circus organization, and David Canat, director of the creation center Les Artisans Producteurs), a person from Ireland (Lucy Medlycott, director of Irish Street Art and Spectacle Network) one from Denmark (Susanne Danig, director of the BIRCA creation center, will talk about the professional days), one from Slovenia (Katja Somrak, deputy director of PTL Dance Theater Ljubljana), and one from Italy (Matteo Zonca, director of MuZo Dance Theater), as well as state pros.

And is that one of the foundations of Fira B! These are the professional days, which start tomorrow, Thursday, October 3 and until Saturday, October 5 at the premises of CaixaForum (street of Weyler, 5, in Palma). In this edition there are more than 700 accredited professionals. That is why an extensive program of meetings, conferences and talks has been prepared with different agents in the music and performing arts sector in order to promote exchanges and negotiations.
Remember that Fair B! The international Mallorcan singer Maika Makovski will start with an opening concert this Thursday, October 3, at 10 pm, at the Xesc Forteza Theater in Palma.
