‘Que la peresa no et mengi’: More than one hundred music and performing arts activities await you at Fira B! 2019
Published 26/09/2019The countdown begins for the 5th edition of Fira B!, the most important market for music and scenic arts in the Balearic Islands, which will be held from October 3 to 6 in Palma. Fira B! 2019 will offer 52 music concerts and 29 performances of scenic arts distributed among 12 spaces of the city, as well as an extensive program of professional conferences.
The center of Palma will breathe creativity both for artists and professionals who will come to the city, come from all over the world, as well as for music shows and performing arts that have been prepared for its promotion. Thus, the showcases of music will be held at the Xesc Forteza Municipal Theater, the Museum of Mallorca, the Parc de la Mar (Portella) and Can Balaguer. On the other hand, works of performing arts can be seen at the Teatre Principal -large hall and small room- in Can Balaguer, at the Arxiu del Regne de Mallorca, in Can Alcover, in the Mar i Terra municipal theaters , Catalina Valls and Xesc Forteza, and in the plaça Major.

One of the foundations of Fira B! These are the professional days, which will take place between October 3 and 5 at the premises of CaixaForum (Weyler, 5, Palma), and that is expected to congregate more than 900 professionals from the sector. That is why an extensive program of meetings, conferences and talks has been prepared with different agents in the music and performing arts sector in order to promote exchanges and negotiations.

Fira B! the international Mallorcan singer Maika Makovski will start with an opening concert on Thursday, October 3, at 10pm, at the Xesc Forteza Theater in Palma. Tickets are for sale on the Palma Cultura website at a price of € 7.

Regarding performing arts shows, tickets are sold on the platforms of the different venues: in the case of the municipal theaters, in Palma Cultura, and in the case of the Teatre Principal in Palma, through its website. The works that are represented in Can Alcover and the Arxiu del Regne de Mallorca, are free, although the entrance must be reserved. There must also be a reservation for classical music shows that will be held in the organ room of Can Balaguer. These reservations can be made at: http://www.firab.org/ca/p/entradas/. For other shows and showcases of music, as well as the circus performances to be held in Plaza Mayor de Palma, it is not necessary to book tickets.

In addition, the Govern de les Illes Balears has launched a promotional video to encourage citizens to participate in the professional market of music and performing arts most important in the Balearic Islands. Under the slogan "May the perish do not eat", the people will be encouraged to enjoy the hundred of activities programmed in Fira B! 2019.
