More than 5.000 people participate in the 6th edition of Fira B!

MORE THAN 5,000 PEOPLE PARTICIPATE IN THE 6TH EDITION OF FIRAB!
255 musicians and performing arts professionals from the Islands have been promoted in the professional music and performing arts market of the Balearic Islands.
The professional days will continue throughout 2022 thanks to Fira B! Labs
More than 5,000 people have participated in the 6th edition of the professional music and performing arts market of the Balearic Islands Fira B!, held in Palma between November 11 and 14, with the aim of publicizing and promoting the latest and most representative creations of Balearic artists.
In total, at Fira B! In 2021, 255 artists, 168 musicians and 87 professionals from the performing arts participated, presenting their shows or concerts. 4,269 people have attended as a face-to-face audience, and nearly 500 people have followed the online shows open exclusively to professionals.
Fira B! 2021 has hosted a total of 36 concerts and 18 stage performances in emblematic spaces and stages of Palma such as the Teatre Xesc Forteza, the Teatre Catalina Valls, the Teatre Mar i Terra, the Teatre Principal and Es Baluard. Among the shows that have had the most success in the call, the following stand out: "Nua (radiografia d'un trastorn)", by Ann Perelló; “P-Acte Idiota”, by Hermanas Picohueso; and the Alanaire concert with AGOST, Salvatge Cor and The Prussians. All of them have managed to hang the sold out sign with their shows.
Among the concerts held, the following stand out: Jansky, Voodoo Children, Ensemble Illes Sonores (OSIB), Pere Bujosa Trio, Muriel Grossmann Quartet, The Prussianes, Anna Ferrer, Guiem Soldevila, Highlands Project, Gipó, María Jaume, Jack in Water, Ombra, Omar Alcaide and The Trikinis, among others. And in the performing arts: “P-Acte idiota”, “Aquell Carrer”, “Nua (Radiografia d'un trastorn)”, “Anar a Saturn i tornar”, “Partycitypate”, “Poi”, “Hacemos como que bailamos "...
Also noteworthy are the online showcases held within the framework of Fira B! 2021 in collaboration with international entities such as: The Magnettes (Sweden, in collaboration with Future Echoes), Krekhaus (Bulgaria, in collaboration with Sofia International Music Conference), Bandicoot (Wales, in collaboration with FOCUS Wales), Tele-Port (Luxemburg,in collaboration with Kultur LX), Hamish Hawk ( Scotland, in collaboration with Wide Days), Ricardo Izquierdo (France, in collaboration with MiRR Collective de Musiques Créatives), Ahi (Canada, in collaboration with Indie Week), Tallies (Canada, in collaboration with Indie Week), Kachra Khan Manganiyar (India, in collaboration with Bayan Tree).

The expenditure budget for Fira B! was €167,195 excluding taxes and €211,639 including taxes.
A total of €90,025 was earmarked for the contracting of production services, professional conferences, communication and streaming.
For the rental of spaces: €11,150 for the rental of Es Baluard; €5,321 for the rental of the Teatre Principal; and €3,630 for the rental of Son Amar. Fira B!'s main collaborator, Palma City Council-Palma Cultura, has provided all the municipal theatres free of charge.
€53,741 has been earmarked for the fees of musicians and performing arts professionals. Also €22,353 has been earmarked to cover the expenses of these artists.
€17,132 has been earmarked to cover the travel and accommodation needs of external programmers and professionals. This is an essential budget to encourage recruitment.
Finally, € 4,800 have been invested in improving the digital platform.
FIRA B! CONTINUING LABS
500 professionals of the performing arts and music have participated, this year, in the Professional Conference-Fira B! Pro, which will continue during the first quarter of 2021 thanks to Fira B! Labs. In fact, within the framework of Fira B! A first action by Fira B! Labs has already taken place: the masterclass by Israeli guitarist Yoav Eshed at the conservatory, which was very well received.
"The launch of Fira B! Labs responds to the fact that we have detected the importance of creating new actions that allow us to extend and organize, beyond the days of Fira B!, face-to-face professional days", explains the managing director of the Institute of Balearic Studies (IEB), Mateu Malondra. Thus, throughout the first quarter of 2022, specialized meetings and continuous training are planned in collaboration with other agents, such as the Escola Superior d'Art Dramàtic de les Illes Balears, the Associació de Dramaturgues i Dramaturgs de les Illes Balears, the Institut Ramon Llull, the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears and the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears, among others.
Fira B! Labs will also include a cultural content platform that is currently being negotiated with IB3.
The communicative objective of making Fira B! visible has been achieved with more than 300 entries in the press, digital environment, presence on IB3 Televisió, IB3 Radio, presence on TVE Balears, TV3 telenotícies vespre and Catalunya Ràdio, among others.
